Flat active-picture geometry. Outer housings, curvature, stands and software scaling are not modeled.
The comparison covers flat active rectangles. It does not model curvature, chassis, stand footprint, application workspace, perceived sharpness or product quality. Resolution presets set the exact pixel ratio; the shorthand “21:9” is not silently substituted for 3440:1440 (43:18).
THE MATH, IN PLAIN SIGHT
How it works.
Each screen is calculated separately from its diagonal and physical aspect ratio. Percentage change from A to B = (B value ÷ A value − 1) × 100. Drawings share one scale. A single PPI percentage is omitted if either input has a ratio mismatch.
A worked example
A 27 inch 16:9 screen is about 23.53 in wide and 13.24 in high. A 34 inch 43:18 screen is about 31.36 in wide and 13.13 in high. The larger diagonal adds mostly width in this example.
