A FEW PRACTICAL DETAILS
Terms of use.
Stitch Size offers a free calculation tool and general educational notes for planning Aida fabric.
Using the planner
You may use the planner for your own projects and print or save the results. The tool assumes ordinary full cross stitches over one square of Aida, a regular fabric grid and an equal margin on every edge. Read the method for the formula, input limits and rounding rules.
You are responsible for entering the correct chart dimensions and fabric count, checking the actual cloth, and choosing an allowance suitable for handling and finishing. The tool does not account automatically for shrinkage, fraying, seams, framing or other reserves. A preview is an illustration of proportions, not a cutting template.
Results and availability
Results and notes are provided as general planning information, without a guarantee that they suit a particular fabric, pattern or finish. Check measurements before buying or cutting material. Features may change, and uninterrupted availability is not promised. Nothing on this page limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Your saved plan
The optional save feature stores one record in your current browser. It is not permanent storage or a backup service. Browser settings, site-data deletion or device changes may remove it. Keep a printed note or your own copy of measurements you need to retain.
Content and references
The site’s written guides and illustrations are provided to help explain the tool. External references belong to their respective owners. Linking a source does not imply endorsement, partnership or affiliation. DMC and other referenced names are used to identify the source or material being discussed.
Follow the pattern designer’s instructions and respect any rights attached to patterns you use. This tool does not provide, license or reproduce a cross stitch chart.
Privacy
The privacy page explains the optional local save and the site’s current use of browser storage. This version has no advertising or analytics scripts.
